I Don't Mind If It Rains A Little

(Music and lyrics by Scott Ryan)

"Gonna rain," says a voice from heaven;
"Pack a boat with everything that's livin',
"Two by two and seven by seven,
"Every animal and every bird."

So here's Noah with a pained expression
Holding fast to his self-possession.
Oh, but he's the soul of discretion
And he never says a mumblin' word.

But he's thinking now . . .

(Chorus:)
          I don't mind if it rains a little;
          I don't mind if it rains a little.
          I don't mind if it rains a little,
          But I hope it doesn't rain a lot

          [Oh, no]

          I don't mind if it rains a little;
          I don't mind if it rains a little.
          I don't mind if it rains a little,
          But I hope it doesn't rain a lot

So here's Noah at the end of his tether
Trying just to get 'em all together—
Says "We're in for some nasty weather
"And everybody better climb aboard."

The dogs are doggin' and the frogs are froggin';
Noah's busy with his cataloguin'.
A drop of rain hits him smack on the noggin
And he rolls his eyes at the Lord

And he says, "Lord . . . "

(Chorus) [Do You hear me now?]

He's got 'em all in their stalls for hauling,
Wall to wall and a-caterwauling.
Sweet mama, how the rain is falling—
Oh, Lordy, how the rain comes down!

From the ground there's a sound of wailing;
Awful cries to the skies a-sailing.
So here's Noah looking over the railing
And he's watching all his neighbors drown.

And he says "Lord . . . "

(Chorus) [Are You listening?]

I wasn't there, so I'm mainly quotin'
From the book that the tale is wrote in:
It's forty days that the boat goes a-floatin'
Till it rests on a mountaintop. (That's what the book says.)

Now I'm sure there's more to the story;
Some say it's an allegory.
I don't know, and I'm sure gonna worry
While I'm waiting for the rain to stop.

'Cause I'm with Noah now . . .

(Chorus) [Sing it with me now]

(Chorus) [One more time now]

(Chorus)
